About Shane

Shane Clark currently coordinates Laughing Child International from Mexico City, Mexico. He is working to build healing relationships between the Body of Christ and institutionalized children, suffering with HIV/AIDS. The healing camp initiative is his primary focus in Latin America.

Shane has over 20 years of experience in transformational relief and development service among the world's poor. Before developing Laughing Child in 2002, he led ecumenical and inter-religious affairs on behalf of Habitat for Humanity International. Shane founded Word Made Flesh and served as International Director from its inception until 1995. Word Made Flesh is believed to have established the first pediatric AIDS care home in India. It was there that Shane enjoyed a six-year learning/serving relationship with Mother Teresa of Calcutta.

Shane earned his B.A. in Theology and Missions from Asbury College, an M.A. equivalent through mentorship with Dr. Sam Kamaleson of World Vision International and completed a year of Ph.D. studies in Oxford, England.

As writer and producer, Shane has completed two CDs of gospel music and a book of art photography to inspire compassion for the poor. He has recently completed the long awaited CD of hymns with country music legend, Charlie Daniels.
