Christmas Blessings and 2020 Vision

Merry Christmas, Camp Family!

May you and yours enjoy a thrilling Jesus-filled Christmas this year.  Thank you for so beautifully living into Father’s compassionate heart and mission in this broken world.  You have been chosen and gifted to be a life-changing blessing to those around you and around God’s world.  I cannot thank you enough for including this little ministry in your loving heart.
In addition to the Great News of hope and salvation, which we are busy celebrating through these special days, Laughing Child International has received some very good news.  I am happy to report that we have been approved by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt ministry.  Deepest thanks to our friend and partner Rev. Jerry Scarborough for processing the long and complex application.  Love and gratitude to Rev. Norman Dunlap for covering the related expenses.  It is overwhelming to consider how profoundly God has used these two men in my life for over 30 years!  Only heaven knows the full reach of their compassionate and obedient service.  I am humbled and grateful to continue learning from them.

Two years ago, Laughing Child announced a vision to plant a church (in God’s time) to reach our local community.  Frankly, I was surprised to discern such a clear leading to plant a church back then.  I really did not understand how, or when, it could be done as our Camp was busy with programs for children. However, much has changed over the past two years.  You may remember that our specialized ministries to children and families living with terminal diseases has now shifted to Mexico City.  I am convinced that in addition to our focused outreaches in Mexico City, it is Father’s will to plant a worshipping and serving church on the healing grounds of Camp Laughing Child.  The families that live in the villages that surround our beautiful camp have never been more broken.  A rash of murders, kidnappings, and robberies, have shattered this once peaceful rural region.  Camp Laughing Child, which is already known as a place of love and healing in these communities, will now extend God’s long and gentle arm of salvation to our neighbors.

Please join us in prayer as we work to fill our Camp with songs of praise to God, submission to His will, study of His Word, and service to His world.  Thank you for extending hope and life to folks that so desperately need Our Savior.

I Love You,
