The Growth Report

I pray that this letter finds your heart warmed by God’s perfect love within this cold winter season.

Thank you for your continued prayers as we are about halfway into our Family Bridges program with families living with cerebral palsy in partnership with APAC in Mexico City. The ministry reports from our team tell both sad and encouraging stories. We are so grateful that many of the mothers present are initiating conversations of reconciliation with the adolescent and adult siblings of their child with cerebral palsy. They are asking for their children’s forgiveness for any and all unintentional lack of care and attention during their childhood development. Thank you for praying for every heart present in these critically important sessions of reconciliation to one another and to our loving Father.

Our awesome team, Dr. Olivia, Dr. Judith, and Claudia, have introduced our Family Bridges program to several care institutions which we have deemed as potentially strategic partners in Mexico City. One such organization is called, Aqui Nadie se Rinde. Currently, they support an average of 712 families per year who have a child living with cancer. We are thrilled to have just received a formal proposal from them for a partnership which would include the adaptation of our program to be offered online for families that cannot attend in-person sessions. This is an exciting development which would greatly expand the potential for our outreach throughout Latin America. Please pray for this newest partner organization. May we add Father’s salt, light, and leaven, to their great work for families with a child living with cancer.

Have you heard the saying, “Too big for your britches”? Well, Laughing Child has officially grown too big for our budget. I am always hesitant to share financial needs with our faithful donor families. You already do so much for which I could not be more grateful. I simply ask you to pray for others to join our mission. We desire to grow into Father’s best intentions for this work. No more and no less. Laughing Child has begun this new year of ministry with about 35% less finances than the year before. At the same time, we anticipate requests for our Family Bridges ministry to increase exponentially in the months ahead. There is a significant disparity between where we are and where we will need to be. I will be actively seeking opportunities to share these exciting new developments of our ministry on a one-on-one or small-group basis. Please pray that our able Father will creatively make up for what I lack in my proven inability to raise funds. Thank you for believing with and for me.

Our faithful God, through the likes of you, is doing a new and beautiful thing for hurting families that face incredibly difficult life circumstances. Please continue to pray for these precious families we serve, our new ministry partners, and our gifted and devoted team. God bless the Family Bridges ministry of Laughing Child International.
